When driving a 2000 ls v8,with ac on load humming noise from engine,is this common,sounds fine when stopped with hood up and air on,fine on highway with no air o:confused: n,ac is ice cold,is this common ,is it the electric fan?

1st the LS doesn't have an electric fan it is hydraulic
2nd your problem sounds like the power steering pump that is humming..they make an additive your can put in there that should help..check with your local dealership
 
The 2nd gen LS has an electric fan, but his is 1st gen, so yeah no electric fan.
It probably is a wheel bearing.

Get out on the road at some speed and then shift to neutral. Rev the engine. Does the hum vary with engine speed? Or does in only vary with car speed? If the former, then it might be the power steering pump or the fan pump. If the latter, then it is a wheel bearing.

I just had to replace a wheel bearing on my 04 at 100K miles.
