So my mark used to start all up until yesterday when the anti theft light came on. ever since then i try and start the car and just get a click sound. she isn't trying to turn over. i'm new to the mark in fact i bought her all of a month ago. any ideas/suggestions? i really did enjoy driving her.

Check the battery cables and make sure the battery has voltage. Where is the clicking coming from? If it's coming from the starter solenoid, then it's probably not an anti-theft issue, it's more likely a battery or connection issue.

Then you may need a starter solenoid. I thought that the anti-theft will let the engine crank over, just not start.

But how is the alt and battery doing anyway?

I tried for about a half hour then she finally decided to turn over. Just randomly. I turned her off and let her sit for a bit then she started right back up. honestly and ideas as to what this problem is? So that i may prevent this from ever happening again.

Take it to the parts store and have them check the battery and alternator. Autozone will do this for free. If those both check out, then there is a good possibility that it's the starter solenoid, like unity said. It's hard to troubleshoot a problem after it mysteriously goes away and replacing parts at random could cost you more money than you need to spend.

I'll run it up to autozone (when it starts) and see if i cant get it taken care of. Thanks a lot all. I'll keep you posted.
