9005 in place of 9006 (low beam)

well i modified my 9005 bulbs to fit my the low beam housing and it plugs right in. what i did is trim a tiny bit off of the top where there is a small stub in the middle, then on the inside where you plug ti in, i got my soldering iron and melted away the 2 prongs in there and they plug right in and fit perfect. should i worry about heat? 2000 ls6

Both should operate at the same wattage so no need to worry about anything melting. You may encounter some glare to oncoming traffic with the 9005 since it doesn't have a painted tip like the 9006.

yeah it just got dark out and i checked it out, it does not seem that much brighter.

should be a bit brighter

Do you think you could take a pic of the trimming and/or soldering for me? I just bought an extra pair of 9005's to do this and don't want to trim the wrong amount.
