My 88 TC cruise will not hold steady. It surges then falls and surges. I have replaced the servo, but I think the amplifier must be the culprit because the COAST does not let it slow slow down. It will come up to speed then drop off then try to recover and overshoot. I'd like to know if the module under the dash to the left of the steering wheel is the CC amp. It is mounted vertically against the firewall beside the E brake. Is there any way to test the amplifier?
I did make sure the cable slack was removed when I replaced the servo and I checked the vac lines and check valve. There is no issue with the heater, so I think the vac system is fine.
Any help is appreciated.
