I was wondering if anyone has put 6x9's in place of the factory speakers? the factory 5x7's are way too small...

i have. just a little cutting. watch out for the air line.lol.

What air line? and how much do ya gotta cut out? I wannat put 6x9's in teh back and maybe components in the front

Why dont you just buy the 6x8"s from pioneer, they act like 6x9"s and come in 2,3,and even 4-way configurations.
I had the 3-ways in my T-bird and they were great with the amp in our cars they will sound even better.

air ride, air line. runs right by the speaker hole. just trace and cut. wasnt that much to take off.

Because I don't like pioneer, I like infinity and I don't have the stock system in my car I ripped that pos out the second I got my car.

And I'll just cut through that line... Getting rid of my air ride. :)

6x9

I have apline 5x7's in the rear and the doors right now. I was thinking about changing the backs to 6x9's also. Plan on doing this on the weekend. Ill put up some pics once its all done.

Thats awsome. Post pics of the hole that you cut before the speaker goes in.. Thanks and goodluck

Audiobahn makes those sizess as well and they sound really well I think thats what Im going to go with. Good luck with whatever you do.

I have to agree, 6x9's seem to give a lot more sound as well as availabilty, I've got a set of Bostons mounted in the rear shelf, not real professonal, but they sound good....
