Is a 40mm offset ok for 20" rims on a lowered LS?

The that little offset the wheel will be flush with the fender well. You might have some rubbing problems.

It will be the outside fender. I am right on the money with rubbing and had to bend my fender lip. You will be an extra 8mm extended outward than me. You will definitely have rubbing with a 40mm 8.5" wheel.

Use the stock 7.5" 60mm as a reference or my 8" 42 mm and dont go any further out than what I have or you will have rubbing.

You should not have any rubbing problems with 45mm of offset.
