Ok I have a question I have change my Lincoln rear end gears to 3:73 and a new Speedo gear for the trans , I haven’t gotten a chip for the car yet/ will a chip make I BIG different if it redone for the 3:73 gears? Not sure if its worth it,

it will help if get one yes! cause your pcm right now still thinks you have the stock gears installed.

the 93-98 PCM's can not be programmed for gears. What is done is the shift points are raised and firmed up which makes the car shift properly with gears. You still need a speedo gear especially if you have a gen 1.

still i don't think a chip would make that much off a different, has anyone here have new gears and then gotten a chip if was it worth it?

is 373's a 50/50 on the driveshaft upgrade can you get away from having to upgrade it or wait till the stock one explodes and goes threw the back seat or does it vibrate just at a 100mph

It makes a big difference, your car will shift randomly and really sloppy with gears and no chip.

4.10:1,But I have a 23 tooth spedo gear (for 3.73:1) and it was sometime ago but it said like 110mph before it would start bucking.

I want to go down one set with the new car.

3.55s in mine with no tune or speedo gear. shifts normally but the speedo is off.

IMO the car should have been sold with 3.55s. drives so nice in the city. highway is minimal impact on rpm/mileage but it made the stop and go driving much easier.
