Heres my issue. I have 2 tires 245/40/19's and I need to get 2 more. Im debating between 245/40/19's or 245/35/19's.

Do I get another pair of 245/40/19's and have all 4 of the tires the same size or do I get the 245/35/19's and put those on the front for a more staggered look?

I know there have been comments made before on this forum about different sizes throwing off the ABS and traction control module, but I dont think this is the case, there has to be room for play. All 4 of your wheels do not spin at the same rate all the time:

Factors include:
Tread depth on each wheel.
Going around turns, the inside wheels spin less.
Burning out doesnt kick in the ABS because the back wheels are spinning more.

So that is my concern. I dont know if I am thinking about this the right way. Please share some insights. Thanks.

Between those two sizes, depending on tire brand, you are looking at a 0.7 to 1.1 inch difference in overall diameter. I can see where you might want some additional clearance in the rear of your lowered LS, but I know of only one other LS owner who tried it and he didn't have any problems. Though that's not to say that you won't have any issues. His tires had only about
0.5 inch difference.

You should know within a few miles of driving if the CPUs in your car freak out.

So, if you try it, I would make sure that you can take the new tires back to the shop and exchange them if there is a problem.

All my tires are the same size, and the only place I bottom out is right after the front tires. Would the 5% difference in sidewall height be that noticeable? Your talking 12.25mm thinner for a 245 series tire.

Im with you 100%, its not a big difference in sidewall. Im just looking ahead to see if I should stick with 245/40 or 245/35. I have 2 -245/40's now and 2 -255/40's for the rear. I will see how those work first once they come in this week. Ill keep you guys posted to let you know if a staggered sizing will work on the LS without the computer freaking out. Thanks guys!!
