o.k, i know this is possible because i've seen mark viii's with 20 inch rims before.. but here's my question to any of you who have them on yours, did you have to modify anything to put them on the car?? I know the wheel wells will hold em. Im sure they'd go right on the back, but im alil leery bout the front. I have 18's on mine and its looks like if i go much bigger s h i t's gonah hit. Lemme know what any of you had to do, or didn't lol. THANKS

You shouldn't have any problem fitting a 245/35/20 on the front or back. If you go bigger, you could run into problems depending on the width and offset of your wheel. I am actually running slightly bigger 245/40/20s without problems.

I have 3/16" spacers up front as insurance against rubbing and my wheels are 20x8.5 with a 43mm offset. My car is modified up front so when dumped all the way down it lays on the tires. With a stock suspended car, it shouldn't rub up front when dumped all the way down, but you will probably get some rubbing if you turn the wheel full left or right. At normal heights, you should be fine.

When you move to a bigger wheel, your overall wheel/tire diameter should remain pretty much the same. Depending on what size tires you are running with your 18s, your 20s could actually be smaller overall in diameter. Just keep in mind that as the wheels get bigger, the tires get smaller.

Kale, don't you experience some rub on the back when you hit a decent dip in the road...? Many of us do with just 17's....

The offset of the rim and size (width) of the tire are the critical measurements. If the rim is 8" or under, you should be fine. Rim height has nothing to do with it. With a 36mm offset, 245's should fit fine, no matter if it is 16,17,18 or 20, on 7", 8" or 9" rims. Now if the offset is wrong or the tire is wider than 245, you could certainly have fitment issues.

I Love 20's on th Marks.

18x9's here lowered with 255/45/18 tires and the rear will hit the body part of the fender well. Sorry but I'd rather have 18's and lower the body then 20's and leave it stock.

the set im lookin into is 255/35/ 20.... any thoughts? too wide? jus right? lol. I think maybe this week end i'll jus give them a shot on the car and see how it goes. It'd sure be nice to roll up to the LMS meet sittin on dubs.

I've got the Cobra R's 17x9... 36mm offset...
You might be right about an 8" rim, but 9" w/245's will give a slight
rub when you hit a good bump... I've got them and so do others.
Your running stocks, so its just theoretical...

My 20s won't rub at ride height, they will barely touch when dumped all the way down and only on the pass side. The driver side has lots of room. They didn't rub at all with the (worn) tires I took off and some minor reworking of that area could cure the problem. Since the car isn't driven at that height anyways, I'd just as well leave it be. The reason some of you guys have rubbing issues is because you have wider wheels and less offset.

There's a ton of room under the car for more tire, but it's towards the inside, not the outside. A 255/35/20 up front is pushing it. If you buy them from a local tire shop, they should be able to work with you on fitting your wheels properly.
