Friends,
Need some advice. I stopped into a local dealer yesterday to look at a black 2006 LS (V8) that I found on line. I'm now in the process of haggling with the dealer about price, as I want to maintain a certain monthly payment. The car was supposedly red tagged and marked down from $29,950 to $26,982. I'm wanting the dealer to come down another $2k and wondering what my chances are of that happening. The dealer gave me the car and I've had it for two days now; I'll be bringing it back tomorrow. Anyway, a few facts on the car.....
Just ran a carfax on it and it appears it was sold late 2005 to a rental company. From there it was sold in an auction to the local dealer. I find no discrepanies via car fax and it has 9k miles on it. To me, it is solid and in excellant physical and mechanical condition. With 9K, it also has the balance of the factory warranty. I'm not 100 percent up on the options for this car but this is what I do know.
----: No nav system/No Rear Park Assist/Standard 17" machine aluminum wheels.
++++: Heated and cooled seats/Power moonroof/AdvanceTrac electronic stability system/Lincoln Soundmark Audiophile with 6-disc in dash CD changer (sound system ROCKS!)/walnutshift knob, steeringwheel, dash and door-trim panels.
This said, any idea as to how far I can push the dealer without insult? From my study, I know dealers are trying to dump these. Any comments regarding the purchase or evaluation of the car would be most appreciated. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
John
