i got a 05 v6 ls with 78k and today when i tried to start it wouldnt start! so i cranked it again and the itll start but no power and will shut off again. I than did it again but this time pumped the gas pedal as i started it and it wouldnt die untill i let off the pedal. So i put my foot on teh pedal put it in D and it drove fine but whenever i push the brake it feels hard like when u pump the brakes when the car is off it has alot of pressure and i smash hard enough and it will stop so i drove it like that to the dealer which is 10 min from my house. No CEL just rpms are pulsating up and down till it dies! what can be the culprit? changed the coils at 40k

Coils are not usually a problem on our gen2 v6's. There are always exceptions though.

I would suspect the PCV valve. It's really my only guess. Should be covered under extended warranty from Lincoln... I got a letter stating so on my 04 v6 at least. Good luck.

Open the hood and look to the left of the intake manifold, you should see a black hoswe about 1/2" in diameter. It is a two piece design and would come apart, very easy to see. Put it back togther and drive to the Lincoln delaer and they will replace witha new improved type with clamps. I had mine do that and lincoln took care of it. Sorry no pics.

Glad we could be of some help. This is what its all about.
