It is time to change my timing belt. According to consumerguide.com the cost would be $1340 including parts and labor. I cannot believe the price. Is this true? Has anyone get changed timing belt?
I am not surprised at that price. You have to figure labor to take off most if not all belt driven accessories, maybe even the radiator, the timing covers, etc. etc.
Thank you for the reply. I just found out that timing belt is not used for Lincoln LS. I guess I don't have to worry about it so much for a little while. Now, I better find out how to maintain the chain.

I was going to say that chains are used, not belts. I don't think there are any maintenance issues with the timing chains. In the 8 years I've been involved with the LS, I do not recall anyone ever performing maintenance on them.
