I have a 2003 lincoln ls with the audiophile system, i am looking to upgrade to the navigation. I have a couple questions:

Can i simply take out the radio and place the nav in? or are there additional wires needed?
I would also need the antenna that wires into the unit, where is the antenna usually placed?
Along with the antenna I need a DVD rom? is this already wired to my trunk and just have to put the unit in or do i have to run the wires myself?

Thanks

If you search this forum its been discussed many times. The LS w/o the NAV has a different harness and you would spend TONS of money to put a stock LS nav in. Youre much better off buying an aftermarket nav.

None of the wires that you need exist. So you would have to disassemble your entire car to put in a new harness. Then you would have to buy the 2 or 3 boxes that the nav needs to run, and then you would have to get the nav headunit. And for those parts you pretty much need an entire donor car. So its not really something practical to do when there are great aftermarket headunits out there.
