A) Who has done it? B) How difficult for home garage with no lift? IE, do I need a hoist to get the engine up? Could I just jack it on a board old school? I've searched threads and a lot of dialogue about them, just found nobody who has completed the job and their thoughts. Thanks in advance...

Not too terribly difficult.

Get the car off the ground, and use a service jack to lift the motor.

I believe torque specs were 37ft/lbs for both top and bottom nut.

I did my driver's side mount last week, took about 2 hours including prep and drinking.

I did mine, on a lift, it was a nice way to see what you were doing. I had to loosen a few extra parts not mentioned. to make things move the way they need to, to get the part in there. i did the same side as 2000sport last year

i think that a lift introduces new challenges, such as the means to lift the engine up when the car is 6' off the ground, unless using one of those ramp style lifts with a strong cross brace for jacking

Thanks for the responses guys; in terms of lift, about how far did you lift it or was it more about keeping it in place?

Thanks. Just ordered one from Rockauto; may take pics as I go (and post them if it all work out:))

Quick follow up; I stalked the car for about an hour today before deciding to jump on this. I didn't take pics but it really wasn't too bad. Quick steps as far as what I did (for RH motor mount).

1. Remove cowling and engine cross member
2. Jack vehicle (I removed wheel to have better access and it helped).
3. Remove upper and lower motor mount bolts
4. Loose upper and lower motor mount bolts (LH Side - not sure you needed to do this but was thinking would give me a little more wiggle room once I raised the engine).
5. I have two jack so placed my second jack about mid engine and raised it high enough to remove the bad mount (which was pretty high).

Install in reverse. I had a little issue aligning the mount as I lowered the engine back onto the new mount but was able to do it myself.

PM if you have any specific questions. As indicated above, wasn't overly difficult and about a 3 hour job for me taking my time.

I was able to raise the engine almost high enough to make me want to get at the leaking oil pan gasket...hmmm, we'll see...

Quick follow up #2 - I didn't remove any bolts - just nuts. Sorry for any perceived ridiculousness.

I was thinking I called the bar across the top of the enginer a cross member and I did. You ONLY need to remove that bar across the engine (not sure what you call it). I didn't touch the cross member.
