ok guys,

i got my 2002 gt trans installed into my 1995 mark viii.

i re pinned the harness wiring and swapped he shift solenoid.

everything works great.i think ?

i love the 1-2 shift, perfectly firm and quick.

my question is ....does a 2002 (or 99 and up,since they got the improved valve bodies) 4r70w come factory with firmer shifting than our marks?

because this trans is stock, not j modded yet,and i wasnt expecting the trans to shift so nice.i love how it is,but want to make sure its ok.

i know someone, cant remember who,on here did a swap similiar in year to mine.

thanks in advance.

why would you need to jmod your 02? did you change the accumulator to a pre 98?

yeah, it's a better transmission than ours :) this is why you notice the firmer shifts.

no,i was saying that it wasnt jmodded and yet it shifted like it was jmodded, thats what i wanted to know if it was ok,it definately has the new /better 1-2 accumulator.

So called J-MOD requires enlarging holes in the separator plate, removing springs from the 1-2 and 2-3 assy and has nothing to do with the acumulators themselves.

J-modding any 4r70w is a good idea, regardless of year it was made in.

I have a 99 yes, firmer shifts hell no, I got a 3500 stall so it softens up the shifts I still can chirp them in drive thou
