Hello,

new here, first post. Hope you can maybe direct me on this a bit.

2002 Lincoln LS 3.9 v8 Auto

Car has been running good lately. I ran the gas tank a little low the other day, filled it half way - drove about 10 miles then parked it.

When I returned to the car several hours later it wouldn't start or crank over. The dash would reset when I would try to crank it.

Tried to jump start it with no luck.

The LED display was showing low fuel error, even when the gauge showed half full. The LED also showed "check traction control" and " fuel computer data error."

I pulled the battery cable for an hour or so, no luck - same problem

Got a code reader and read the following codes.

B1676
C1805
U1262

The Battery ground looks good. I don't know exaclty where the ECMs are, maybe I could check the grounds there.

Any Ideas Folks??

The message center (that's what that display is called) is not an LED display, it is vacuum fluorescent. There's a big difference between the two.

If the gauges were resetting when you tried to start it, your battery is weak. Have it load tested. You probably need to replace it. Be sure to get the factory one (with the vent tube connection.)
B1676 supports this suggestion, it is "battery voltage out of range." That code can come from several different modules. It would be good to know which one(s) it came from.

C1805 is a rare one: Mismatched PCM and/or Stability Assist Module Stability Assist Module CHECK for correct component and configuration for the PCM and stability assist module. INSTALL a new stability assist module as necessary. REFER to Section 206-09 . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.

U1262 is SCP (J1850) Communication Bus Fault. This is probably where you fuel data error is coming from (I bet that the message center said "fuel data error" and not "low fuel error."

Your problem might all be the battery. If the jumper cables weren't thick and short, they may not have been good enough to jump it.
What is the PATS light (that one is LED) doing when you turn the key to start?
