Hello, LVC! About 2 weeks ago, I was pulling up to a stop light when I heard/felt a "thunk" into 1st gear. I thought it sounded odd but no warning lights, etc. When I pulled off, it was like I was riding the clutch on a 5-speed. I kept steady pressure on the accelerator and it shifted into 2nd gear after the RPMs shot up. Third was rough but a little better. After 3rd, it's shifting smoothly. Then after stopping at another light, when it slammed into 1st, the infamous "E" showed up. I had to drive up some to pull over and when I pressed the accelerator, the problem seemed to go away. I pulled over, shut the car off and waited a bit. I started the car, the "E" was gone and it was shifting like crap - UNTIL THE "E" showed up again! So...I took the car to a transmission shop here in town and he codes pulled were:

P1565, P0316, P0732 and P0840

I had the solenoid, spring and bore-something replaced 100k miles ago. I've looked everywhere online and can't find a concrete solution. After reading all of the info I could find on the web, I am wondering if anyone can tell me, collectively, what the issue may be? I know what each of the codes mean - I need to know what could cause all of the codes to occur at the same time.

I may be crazy, but I seem to think that it's not the transmission, but the clockspring. I have a Code 32 on my airbag (clockspring issue I'll bet) and the wiring under the seat is intact from what I can see. I do NOT want to have anyone else pull my transmission until I have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and why. I know the 0316 is a misfire at <1000 rpms.

Any thoughts?

Yes, you are crazy if you think the clockspring is the source of any of your transmission problems.

P1565 - This is probably the clockspring, but it's only stopping your cruise control.

P0316 - When is the last time you replaced all the COPs and spark plugs? This could cause other unexpected problems.

P0732 - Could be serious internal transmission problems, or could be a result of the code below

P0840 - Transmission fluid pressure sensor is bad, or the wiring to it is bad, or the fluid pressure is way out of range.

Just add one or two mothballs to the tank on your next fill-up, problems should go away by itself soon thereafter.

... and remember to ask for a "flatdeck" the LS can NOT be towed from the front.

So I am trying to figure out if you're serious or not... Until I know, I'll refrain from responding. Are you serious - or delirious?!?

There is a ignore function where you can ignore posts from people, I suggest trying that. Its in your user profile section. It makes the forum a better place.
