So I have been having a problem with my 2001 Lincoln LS 3.0 5-speed, my check engine light has been with code P1401 and P0304 for the last 6 months and after replacing, PCV, EGR valve, EGR Vacuum Solenoid, and the EGR Valve Pressure Sensor I decided to do a smoke test to my car for vacuum leaks. I disconnected the hose that connects to the brake booster, covered the intake so no smoke will escape and blew smoke using a cigar
and smoke came out from the TBI. So I took it apart and found out that there was something clogged up inside the intake manifold, it was the EGR vlave passage and after really cleaning it with a wire brush and intake manifold cleaner along with the TBI gasket there was a big difference in how the car ran and no more check engine light
