2000 LS Rear License Plate Surround

Quick question to the gurus. Will a 2000 plate surround fit a 2001? This may seem like silly question but I want to be sure.

2000-2002 will fit.

2003-2006 won't fit.

On the other hand - all grilles from all years WILL fit.

You can put a 2003-2006 rear license plate surround on a pre 03... you just have to get the rear bumper and trunk lid to go with it, right?

The reason I ask is because if it all works out I'm getting a used 2000 plate surround for cheap so I can paint it black and see how it looks.

Id rather not have to replace my whole rear end just for a black plate surround lol
