2000 Ls Bumper Cover Question

Front bumper cover , the small piece that is removable in the grill on the pass. side of the car.........what is a good source for one of those and what is its purpose? My wife had a accident in hers and I need that part........Lincoln gets $80.00 for it.....there must be a better ( read that cheaper") source?
