Okay guys Im new here so bare with me. I currently own a 1999 Cadillac SLS, and shopping for a new car. Believe me I love my Cadi, BUT I have always had a craving for the lincoln LS. My options right now are a 2000 Lincoln LS with 76k miles on it vs a 2003 Deville with 76000 miles on it. Both are 1 owner vehicles. I am just curious of what any ideas or input some of you may have in making this decision.

Reliability
Repairability
Ride
Comfortablility
ETC.....

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks to anyone who offers input!!!!!!!

don't get a 2000 ls please.. you'll be doing yourself a favor. too many problems with gen1's. gen a gen2, 03+ and you'll be better off. LS is a great car, comfortable, fun, powerful, but i have heard too many nightmare problems with them. you can probably find an 03 LS v8 for around 17k~ privately, maybe even less if you find the right seller. if you goto a dealer they go for around 20k~.

Caddy.....Ive never owned one....only researched them. Ive owned my 01 LS8 for like 3 weeks and regret it mostly already...

Id say the Caddy...based on reliability just to start...

Reliability has something to do with how you drive as well... Beat the S*** out of your cars, and neither will last long. If you'e going to keep it mostly stock, and drive normal, then you can't beat the LS for looks. Caddy seems too AARP or worse. Don't caddies come standard with a viagra prescripion now?

dont get 2003 LS too many problems, at least not an early 03 manufactured in 2002. i have one so far its a piece of....................... i hate this ......, but WHEN it works its a nice car. im gonna get rid of mine and get an 04 S430, an SRT8 charger or a 04 lexus LS430 havent decided yet. a older model DTS is nice too but it looks like a limo car.

I owned a 93 Eldorado before I sold it to buy my 2000 LS. I haven't had many problems with my LS (knock on wood). BUY THE CADDY. I would have no problems buying another caddy, but I probably would not buy another Lincoln. The ride in a cadillac is so much smoother and comfortable. I love the looks of my LS but as far as the rest of the car goes I would go with Cadillac. Good Luck in whatever you decide.

When I was researching on what yr ls to get i found that the 2000 seemed to have the most problems....which would make sense since it was the first yr of production.....i would have went with a 2nd gen (03+) but cant afford that so i chose the 01.....only problem ive had really is my CAT but the car is up there in miles and they only last so long. Never had a caddy but i love my LS!

The LS is a great car if you want a little more "sport" than the caddy. The caddy will be a more isolated ride and less involved. The LS is a good riding car with great athletics that always surprises my friends and family. The LS is also a lot smaller. I love my LS (02) comsumer reports says that 00, 01, 03 LSes are years to avoid due to reliability issues. I wouldnt get one with high miles.
