Hi, i was hoping that someone could help me, i had the valve cover gasket repalced, The car hesitates at acceleration, when i give it gas around 60-80 it will start chocking and the gas pedal will viberate. The coils and spark plugs were inspected and the machanic said they were fine but im still getting the same hesitation and stalling so i tryed pennzoil fuel injection cleaner and it didnt work, tryed pennzoil full system cleaner still didnt work and lastly pennzoil octane booster. what should i do? Thanks in advance.

first, stop trying to fix mechanical problems with liquid solutions.

Second... 98% chance that one or more of your coils are failing.

Thanks guys for your replies, but yea, no engine light or nothing. anymore ideas?

doesn't mean there isn't a code.

Do this... take it out and rod the hell out of it. The CEL will come on and you will get codes. Almost a given that it will happen. You just have to push it.

Otherwise, ignition aside... throw a fuel pressure gauge on it.

There is a big difference between hesitating and stalling. If your going 60-80 and your car stalls....thats a lot different than going 60-80 giving it gas and your car hesitating. If its just hesitating then it's almost definentely the coils which even if their is no CEL a code might still be thrown so try and pull those. If your car is actually stalling then it's a much different problem like fuel cutoff. And like Nate said, go out and push it and if you get a flashing CEL then it's a coil 100%.

Thank you guy! it only happens during acceleration, the only way that it stops is when i take my foot of the gas or push it pass 80mph. so i have to increase speed or decrease speed.

The same thing was happening to my wifes van. It came out to be a bad vacum line and the EGR valve. Mabey start there....see what comes from it.

almost sounds like what my car does, without the stalling part. At or around 50-65 if i gas it my car jerks a little, i feel the whole car shake. Are coils covered under extended warranty, i hope so.

take it to another dealer. definitely sounds like coils though..

250 for 1 coil replacement. not sure how much more for more coils.

i got 2 coils replace and there is a difference but i still get the little push or skip anything esle that i should do?
