1st gen & 2nd gen front air shocks different?

I was going to buy a second pair as back up, but the seller said that the 1st are different then the 2nd gen M8's. Is this true on not?

All,

There were changes during the production of the Mark VIII , but all will interchange ! The 97 - 98 which use some plastic should be the best to use!

I'm looking for a second set to do the Octane lowering mod to keep ride quality at lower height. This way will have the originals as back up.

I have done three of my cars so far ! I plan to do more fronts , but I will not cut the rears , or cut the rears less !
