I am trying to find the origin/source of this car. It has no top and the windshield header is padded and upholstered. The area where the convertible top would fold in is also upholstered. Any and all information/suggestions are appreciated.

There were quite a few custom body companies when that car was made. However, it could as easily been built in someone's back yard. Cars of that era were full framed and did't rely on the top for structural support.

Some of the popular body works were The Derham Body Co. and Hess & Eisenhardt. Both worked directly with the Big 3 to make custom and prototype cars.

Cool car but this one looks home made to me.

:I The windshield doesn't look right. Like someone just cut the top off. I don't know for sure, but I'd think that if it had been done "factory" by a company like Barry mentioned, they would have changed the windshield. I can't say for sure, it just doesn't look quite right. I still be happy to have it in my driveway though.
