I am looking at buying some wheels and tires of a guy i know. The wheels are 19 X 8.5 and the tires in front are 255/40 rear 285/35. I was just wandering if they would fit and not rub. 285 seems really wide to fit underneath an LS.

Depends on the offset of the rear wheels. I have 275s in the back and could have easily gone to 285, but the offset of my rear wheel is 50 and it's 9.5" wide. Can you find out the offset of those wheels? Front one should be OK if it's in 40-50 range. Your rear wheel is probably 9.5 or 10" wide, so you basicly don't have much room to move away from the 50 that I have.
