Have a 1994 Mark VIII, 155,000 miles. Engine is being rebuilt and I am going to state what has been done to it so far, and what else is being replaced. So, I would like others to chime in, and let me know if there is something else I missed and should replace, even if it's something little.

-Engine, Crank, Head(s) sent to machine shop. Head(s) is/are resurfaced, new valve seats and valve stem seals.

-New Head Bolts And Connecting Rod Bolts.

-New Lifters.

-New Timing Chain Kit.

-New Piston Rings

-New IAC and EGR Valve.

-New Engine Gasket Kit.

-New Water Pump

-New Oil Pump

-IMRC's Hot Tanked, Vacuums Work Very Well.

Things I still need to purchase-

-Fuel Pump.

-Belt, Idler Pulley, Belt Tensioner.

-Re manufactured Fuel Injectors.

-Fuel Filter.

-Thermostat.

-EGR Vacuum Solenoid.

-EGR Pressure Feedback Sensor.

-Air Filter

-Throttle Position Sensor

Any other suggestions?

what's your budget? sounds like your off to a good start.

Really depends I guess. If it needs replaced, then it will be in my budget. Really want to get as much as I can done, so this car can, and will last me for a while.

Might want to add a new crank shaft positioning sensor to your list as they can be a bear to change out later. Also it is a good time to install new O2 sensors. Consider getting a chip burnt that will shut off your Egr so that you don't put more junk back onto those nice clean IMRC's, as well as other features (ie change shift points). Would save buying a new EGR.

If the budget can handle it you could also replace the TC, J-Mod the tranny and add a trans cooler. These are fairly cheap to do, and the timing to do them is great.

So pretty much, replacing the oem trans cooler, with an aftermarket one, will be better? Any suggestions? Also, what about aftermarket cooling fans? Would like to see what's out there.

You can't go wrong going OEM. Give Max a call for genuine Ford parts. That's what I did with my son's rebuild. That is what I am doing with my motor rebuild.

The stock Mark Vlll radiator fan is as good as it gets, no need to replace it. For the transmission cooler what you should do is run it in series to your current cooler, that is to say to take your out put from the radiator and plumb it to the intake of the new cooler, and then take the out put of the new one and connect it to the return to transmission line. I have both Hayden and B&M plate type coolers on my 96 Marks. They are mounted in font of the AC unit in a vertical mode so that the in and out point towards the driver's side. Be sure to use the barbed hose connectors and double clamp everything.
