06 LS8 Window regulator problem

My regulator cable got tangled up around the motor and gear. very common....
bought a new regulator dropped it in....

NOW EVERY TIME I ROLL MY WINDOW ALL THE WAY UP OR JUST AUTO ROLL IT THE WINDOW(front passenger) TOUCHES THE TOP AND THEN LOWERS BACK DOWN ABOUT HALLFWAY!!!

any suggestions? so frustrating

Do the motor current re-initialize procedure in the link above first. That may resolve your problem.
If it doesn't, then you will have to re-index the smart motor to the regulator as well.
