hey as anyone ever put the 05 ls center console in an 01 Ls if so what has to be done.Thanks

2nd gen have eclectic emergency brake, you would loss the use of your emergency brake.

Well if you had a Gen2 arm rest then yours would be adjustable. A bottle sounds uncomfortable.

The release for the 2nd Gen LS's center console armrest is split into two parts; one releases it so it'll swing up for access to the storage bin; the other allows the armrest to slide forward. Of course, when it slides forward, it covers the aft cupholder, rendering it useful only for small things (I usually put my iPhone there).

Unless its a huge car or a SUV I dont know if I have been in many cars with appropriate sized cup holders anyway.

Your 01 already has the updated ones. The 2000 had really crappy flip out cupholders.

I think the swap simply won't work.

You can make it work, given enough time, effort, and money, but by the time you're done you'll have a completely custom center console, so you might as well just go custom if you're going that route. It just doesn't make sense to adapt the 2nd Gen console to a 1st Gen LS.
