I want to put a cat back exhaust on my 'o5 but it isn't avaliable. What would be a good muffler to put on? I am guessing Flowmasters but which one? I don't want it to be loud in the car that much

I got flowmasters on my ls not sure which ones though there a dull silver color, with the resonators cut out also, its not to loud i like it. kinda deep. i checked out alot of video's on youtube before i got them maybe you could start there.

The ls mufflers are pretty big; you can fit many models of replacement mufflers in there. Magnaflows are a popular choice here on the forum!

If it's anything like the Jag XJ6, its 23" long and 16" diameter body... I looked that up at work today, closest thing we have to an LS, it looked about the same setup....

Thanks guys. I would say the factory muffler would have to have way more back pressure

The 2nd gen Lincoln LS exhaust is pretty efficient, doing a cat back will only get you a 3-5 hp gain for approximate $800. The main gain will be in the sound.

its advertised at 11 HP and 10 ft-lbs on the magnaflow site. You probably land somewhere in the middle in actuality. Power adders may benefit more from it.

Spintech: 2 x part # 3112 to replace the rear mufflers or 1 x p/n 32210 in the center to replace the resonators and replace the rear mufflers w/ straight pipe. I may go the latter route.

I would just cut out the mufflers and get something like a set of Borla mufflers. They have a nice solid tone. Flowmasters are very loud!

I have 40 series with resonaters, and mine is not loud...sounds kinda like petekls only with the flowbie sound.

i like the borla's sound myself with the magnaflow second. This of course is based on you-tube clips.

Borla has a bit more rumble where my Magnaflows just have a low tone but the Borla from what I have heard dont get raspy at all like the Flowmasters, the sound just gets louder and slightly more intimidating.

I just clicked the link in your sig. I didnt even know you got a clip up. When will you do a drive by clip?

They sound nice in that short clip!

The Magnaflow for the first generation will work on the 2nd generation.

True, you just have to modify the tail pipe with some actual tips.

Im looking for the best sound for a good value, basic welding shouldn't be an issue, I got uncles that do all this crap for fun. I'm looking at the Mags that Pektels got so far, and its a great sound for $70 a piece. Are there any Bassani, Borla, Flowmaster that can compare in price and sound?

It depends on how you look at it. I feel for the extra price in Borla and Bassani the price is worth it and cant be compared.

The Borla I heard sounded nothing like the aggressive growling Bassani tone at all. It had a deep rumble with a hint of Euro.
