I been having problems with my 04 Lincoln LS V6. A couple of months ago the check engine light turned on. I took the car to the dealership and it was the throttle position sensor. After that problem was fixed I noticed that the car would hesitate at speeds over 50mph. I changed the fuel filter and the air filter, just to see if that would help the problem but it didn't. The check engine light was back again. I took the car back to the dealership and one of the coils was replaced. Problem was fixed until last week, the same problem return but this time the check engine light didn't turn on. Every time I get on the expressway and I reached 50mph, the car hesitates and feels like it got no power, then when I reached a certain speed over 50mph it runs smooth and when I press the accelerator to gain more speed the hesitation comes back. Today I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that the computer was not giving them any codes and that it seems to them that it was a transmission problem. I don't know what to do anymore. I took the car to a different mechanic to get a second opinion and he told me that on Ford, Mercury and Lincoln vehicles if the check engine light is not on it hard to diagnose the problem and that he thinks its a bad coil again but its hard to be guessing which of the six coils is the one if the check engine light is not on. If anyone has experienced this same problem please let me know what to do. Sincerely Rick
