I have the worst sound coming from my rear speakers and I know it's becuase they need to be replaced. I have found out the size of the rear speakers are 6*8. when I opened my trunk I notice I have an factory amp attached to speakers. It seems like a complicated job changing out the speakers but they sound lke they are getting worse everyday with distortion. How do I remove speakers and do I need adaptors adn where do i get them from. Thanks LVC

I'm not sure what kind of system is in the car, I believe Alpine. So will I need an adapter for after market speakers that will be in the rear deck??

Doesn't matter. The rear deck speakers are subs only in both applications.

I know...was asking for a different reason.

If you dont have navigation then its Alpine. You can use regular speakers but they will sound poor due to the lows only sent by the amp.

You would have to bypass them. Most just eliminate them and install aftermarket subs instead. You already have 4 speakers, the rears are just subs.

Drop the rear deck cover in the trunk; 5 clips then slides out from the trunk and disconnect speakers.

Fold down seats and the small ends of the seats. The small sides of the seats require you to take a flat head screw driver and push the latch through the small access that's cut out for you to reach it. When you fold down the seats look at the top and you should see where I'm talking about.

There are about 3, maybe 5 clips that hold on the rear deck dover...remove them. Carefully slide out and bend a skosche without cracking the rear deck cover. I was able to remove mine without removing the pillar covers, it's a tight squeeze but I got 'er outta there. From that point on it should be self explanatory.

6x9's will fit if you get spacers/adapters or a 6x9 with the proper sized basket. 6x9 Infinity Reference's will require a spacer of some sort as the basket is too big. You might pay a pretty penny to replace with a 6x9 mid woofer as they're not common. As mention most usually take them out, unplug them, etc. and then install an aftermarket system, amp, sub, the likes to their tastes.
