Hello everyone, hopefully my first post isn't too ridiculous & repetitive.
I have a 2002 LS V8 that's needing left side lower ball joint (surprise!). I've been looking around on the forum for the past hour, but can't find the answer I'm looking for.

In that post, TeamFord says all Knuckles have been "updated" to the 03+ style. If this is the case, why is the 02 knuckle $70-80 more? In the cutaway diagrams I've found, the knuckle appears to be the same dimensions, but I've gathered the ball joint is a larger unit.
SO, my question: How does one use an 03+ knuckle on a 00-02? I'd really like to save some money on this, trust me.. I've dumped enough into this car over time. I'm not afraid to modify the lower control arm (if that’s what's needed) to accommodate the larger ball joint.
