My Rear Driver door lock won't work, unless I manually do it. The key fob won't lock/unlock it, neither will the lock buttons in the car.

I can hear the motor when the fob/buttons are used. but the lock does not move.

Right now I have my door panel off hoping to fix this issue. I followed the lock cable and it stops at what feels like a little box. Other then that I am lost on what to do next.

Any suggestions?

advice

My advice would be to take the passenger side rear panel off and compare. If you don't know what is wrong you can look for differences between the two. I would say you have two possibilities: first the power lock actuater is not working, check to see if it moves. Second the actuator could work but the small rod to move the lock has fallen off and is not actuating the lock. Check for small rods or clips in the bottom of the door.

my guess is either the lock has too much resistance and the actuator cant push it back and forth, or that the actuator is failing and can no longer work the locks, assuming that you are hearing the actuator try.

when you manually lock and unlock the door, does it feel like it takes an more effort to lock or unlock that door vs. the other rear door? if it feels the same, then my first thought is probably not correct.

Either replace the door latch assembly (that's the little box and it has the electric lock motor inside), or disassemble the box and see if you can fix it. There's a post on this board somewhere from someone who was able to repair theirs.
