So when it rains it pours. Now I need a Fuel Pump for my 02 LS Sport V8. One of the things I missed through my years of maintenance was replacing a new Fuel Filter ( if you have not, Do It!)

The Fuel Filter was so clogged it killed the pump. So I need to get the Pump local to me and right away, Auto Zone, Advanced, O'Reilys, CARQUEST, NAPA?

I was thinking about one of these two from Autozone? Need it asap local pickup. Anything bad about these or any help with other suggestions, of other local part retail stores? Thanks.

Dealer Lincoln fuel pump is $550 plus. Not going to pay that much.

Buy an Auto-Zone pump and do it twice. Pretty cost and labor intensive, right? NAPA, or Motorcraft. You take a chance buying fuel pumps from A-Zone or Advance. don-ohio (:^)

carquest, delphi, napa, motorcraft
i'd pick one of the 4 thats cheapest.

Well I did some searching on the web of consensus. The Delphi pump is only $130 and seems to have a pretty good reputation. Its built here in the US not China or Mexico.

I also own a 06 with 53k on it.

My 02 Sport V8, is a daily driver with 214k, don't see putting $600 into a fuel pump on it. Dephi is lifetime warranty, and suppose to have update improvements over the stock one, and quality parts on it. Even if it fails again in a few years, I am just out my own self install labor again to swap out. Lots of the Ford Truck Guys and Mustang Guys say they have no problems with the Delphi.

Had my 02 for a long time and it been good to me. I blame myself for missing the fuel filter replacement interval. Its still running like new, with original engine and trans. Like I've said before. When a problem occurs, I'd rather put a coil or fuel pump in than a need a Motor or transmission.

Anyone know where or if there is a link for a DIY on the Fuel Pump install?

Used to be a real good brand pump available down here at McConkey's Auto Parts in Waverly,OH.............it was a Carter brand pump. High quality and not TOO expensive. Don't know if they still have them? don-ohio (:^)

Aren't the fuel pumps from NAPA now Airtex? That's the last brand I would use. I've heard good things about Delphi.

Now that Visteon is gone away, and OEM coils are now SMP, I chose Delphi (GM) for this reason. Since getting them and seeing the quality and in the car 2 months, I think I will go more Delphi if I have the choice.

While we are at it, is there a fuel filter maintenance guide here?

Filter, etc.

When I first changed my fuel filter (driver front wheel well) I did so 'just because' back in '07. I put in an aftermarket filter with a removeable cartridge in it. Since then, every time I look it's brand new.

If NAPAS ARE now Airtex made, I don't want one. Master also has a bad rep.
