Just picked up the ls about a week ago. an not happy with the sound system at all. As i am new to this vehicle an forum. It looked to be a stock amp mounted in the trunk underneath the speakers?correct? Well maybe its blown or what but i'm gettin little to no bass. soccer mom's van has more bass than mine!! what gives?? anyone with any ideas for the meantime until i order all aftermarket audio system.

thanks.

Those usually go out on these cars.. Idk why.. With the cost of buying a OEM amp for the stock system, your better off going aftermarket..

yea, aftermarket is a must an will do shortly. just lookin for short term fix. An i've been readin that aftermarket units are a lil rough to install to look original(no spacing/good fitting) I had originally thought bout gettin the deck from newer model ls but probably just purchace indash screen online an install that with a bezel an what not.

Yea.. Single dins pop out a lot.. I think double din fit better.. You can look at my pics.. In the LS, I have a single din, flip screen, Clarion DVD player.. When closed, you can see it popped out, but when up, you can't really see a difference. In the Danger Ranger, I have a double din, Eclipse DVD player.. I don't think the single in the LS looks too bad.. Either one is easy to put in there..

BTW, I'm thinking about selling the system in my car.. Ported box, 1000 watt amp, 12" MTX dvc 800 watts @ 4 ohms.. The first time I got it hooked up, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't hitting hard so I plugged the amp control in.. It was at max and almost knocked out my tail light.. LOL :D Thinking about doing something custom..

yes that is the amp for the optional factory subs

check for blown fuses, if you have this amp there should definitely have a decent amount of bass, is there not any sound coming out of the rear deck?

well if there is a problem with any part of the system, the only fix would be to replace it. so when you get the aftermarket stuff to replace it , then the problem will be taken care of

not true at all, after markets are very easy to install, if you take your time there's no problem at all, with some of the double din nav's and full systems, it can be a little short on space but it all fits in fine

dont bother, is wont improve the sound any, and you might as well just save up the money for the stuff you want to get, and that way get it sooner.

but probably just purchace indash screen online an install that with a bezel an what not.
there you go!

+1 :) I guess I should have answered all your questions.. BTW, hooking up an aftermarket system is as easy as running your speaker wire and remote turn on from the deck to the amp in the trunk.. Then, since the LS has the battery in the trunk, it is easy to run a few feet on power wire..

Pektel has a good post on how to take your radio out..
Go here to get that
