00 Ls Fan Free But Wont Spin

I have an 00 LS with a 3.9 and the fan wont spin , it will if you spin it but not while running ,,,,PLEASE HELP

Is there fluid in the fan pump reservoir? (the pump would be screaming bloody murder if it's empty)

Assuming the answer to that question is yes, the fan drive unit is shot, or the pressure valve on the pump is stuck closed. Either way is common.
