Do the inverters operate at high temps or do to under hood temps due to the engine cause them to heat up? I had the eyes lit up for a while & the inverters were warm, but certainly not hot. When I took out the old inverters, the pc boards inside were half covered in a white rubber coating...

Update: The new inverters are in and the eyes finally work again. The connectors were different, so I soldered on the connectors from the old inverters to the new ones to match the lights. We'll see how long they last. They do seem to be better sealed than the cheap plastic units the eyes came with.

Agreed. Between my 2002 Exploder & 2001 LS I've replaced 5 of 8 regulators. The first LS reg went after I slammed the drivers rear door too hard. The door shut, I heard a faint snap & the window dropped down. For what these things cost new, the regulators are absolute junk. Now my drivers side...

:rolleyes: I got the same kit about a year ago, they went out after a couple months. Is it possible to replace the inverters with a better unit? I really like how they look when they work. One side works ok, but the other side just comes on real dim & flickers.

Wow! i had no idea these keys were that much! My wife's an engineer where these keys are made & got a bunch of keys for my 01 LS (they're all cut) & our Explorer. She even got me a Ford GT key, but the transponder only works for an 03+. I don't think she can get more.
