SCIL problems solved I got info

Be careful doing the “master reset” on the PATS. Ford made a running change halfway through the 1997 YM. Before the change you only needed one key and you are good to go. After the change you have to have 2 differently coded keys to be able to start the car. Doing a reset on a 2 key PATS...

    Getting a new key cut...

By the info I have collected and experience I have gained, the 97's are 1 key programming and some early 98's are 1 key programming. Ford switched to the second gen PATS sometime in 98 on the Mark. If you have a 97 and it takes 2 keys to program it, the module has more than likely been...

    cams

I hate to bust your bubble on this one but Gen2 cars do NOT use the wheel speed sensors to get speed data. The VSS signal goes to the ABS/TC control module. The module then converts the variable AC frequency/voltage signal of the VSS to a pulsed DC signal and then distributes that signal to...

Waterglass is getting expensive, but cheaper than a head gasket job.

Wow. Listen to this. Any ideas for help.

Those connectors are not designed to be totally leak free. The cap is the final leak stop for the connector. That's why you have to have the caps on the connectors. Well that and to keep out dirt, dust and corrosion.

Reached a part of my goal last week

San Antonio (Lackland AFB) is pretty cool...go see the Riverwalk on the day after graduation. Wichita Falls however sucks major ass. Couldn't have a POV until you were there at least 2 months, iirc. Base amenities were basic. There wasn't much in town, but the pawn shops were great. We were...

    southern il mark8!!!!

There's a B to C head swap you can do, but the you can't get PI heads and intakes for the Mark engine, they were never made. PI is a SOHC thing. Blowing out plugs is not really common for our engines provided the plugs are installed correctly to begin with (use a torque wrench to tighten the...
