    FS 2003 LS Winter Wheels

I traded my 2003 LS8 on a 2011 F250 during the winter, and left over are the original 16 x 7.5, 11-spoke wheels with summer tires on them. The tires are Michelin Pilot HX 225/55R16 and probably have a season or two of tread left on them. The wheels are admittedly rough-looking with flaking...

    Parking Brake Adjustment

They've run out of chances. They won't be seeing any more of my money.

    Parking Brake Adjustment

It was even simpler than that. The left side cable ferrule had not been re-inserted into the metal bracket so there wasn't enough take-up for the actuator to reach full stroke. A 2-second fix once the wheel was off. That might have otherwise cost me $500. Thanks again, guys. Chuck

    Parking Brake Adjustment

Wow...thanks, Owlman...the link to your manual is quite impressive and will undoubtedly be helpful later today. Your comment that there is no DTC that says the actuator needs replacement serves to confirm my suspensions about the individual who did the brake job and now I'm suspicious of the...

    Parking Brake Adjustment

Good day. 2-year member, but have seldom posted here. My car is an '03 V8. I had it to the local Ford dealer for the 150,000 km service last week and also had the rear rotors & pads replaced. Got home and discovered the e-brake was not working. Back to the dealer, who insisted it was a...

    LS Wheels for Winter?

Actually, I just made a deal for some OEM take-offs that were selling on eBay. The price was right so even if they do look fancy, which they do, I won't be crying in my beer over lost investment should Mr. Salt begin to take his toll this winter. If they don't fit, I'll be loking for plan...

    Window and heater foes

When I get no heat my first thought is a plugged heater core. Easiest fix: disconnect the two heater hoses & tie them up so they're well above the core, and then pour some undiluted CLR into one of the hoses. Leave it for a while (up to overnight in extreme cases) and then rinse it out. If...

    LS Wheels for Winter?

I think it just happened to be a 16 inch wheel with the right bolt pattern...probably off a Crown Vic or something that comes stock with 16" wheels. The local tire dealers (and autoparts dealers) cannot find a steel wheel in their catalogues that they say will fit the LS, and the Ford dealer is...

    LS Wheels for Winter?

Yes, that is one of the things I'm trying to avoid, having to switch tires on rims too often. Have you tried a set of Taurus wheels to see if they will clear the caliper? A local tire dealer tried a generic Ford wheel and it would not fit. Best bet right now seems to be to lurk on eBay...

    Front end issues? Help wanted!!!

Is there not a tire iron in with your spare that will take the nuts off? WRT the front end noise, I would look also at the tie rod ends. Chuck

    LS Wheels for Winter?

First post from a new member....having owned an '03 LS Premium for all of a week now. I think this model is uniquely Canadian; has the V-8 but came with 16" wheels and the 5-speed automatic, but without the slapstick feature. I live in a snow belt in Canada so my first purchase was some...
