    '99 Lincoln Continental Refurbishment

Keep up the great work. Long story short, I sold my car to a cancer patient whom wanted it, so I fixed it up and sold it to her less than she offered me. Now I have to get my boys some other vehicle to drive after they get their license next year and the year after. All y'all keep your Conti's...

I have fixed my car up...some tips

It is not like giving up on it. The new owner will be a lady whom saw my car at the hospital. She is a terminal cancer patient and promised to look after 'my' car. I was going to donate it to the local museum when I was done with it, including letting my sons drive it. My recent divorce has left...

I bought a rebuilt EATC from Modular Pro in Califronia. Hope it works, as their reviews were not the greatest. Once it is fixed, I have a buyer for my car. I will replace it with a Pathfinder to tow my boat.

    P0430 - twice now

I watched a Scotty Kilmer video and he washed a cat out in a bucket using detergent saying the codes can appear when as little as 5% drop of cat efficiency.

    lean fuel mixture :(:(:(

My 1997 was throwing those codes for the last 5 years. I had replaced the IAC in 2007. Funny thing, as soon as odometer rolled over 300,000KMs, there was an audible click and the engine light went off, and never came on since. Like the programming just went to all default maps. My car sometimes...

    Buying first car & continental

You should buy a service manual for your car. You can go online and look at your car's repair histories and likely issues. I do not like the idea of tranny flush and do not do them. You can take the car to your mechanic and have them inspect the car and tell you what is what. The factory...

    4.6 overheating

Make sure the coolant is filled thru the round port in the 'H' pipe not the overflow tank. The warnings are there but nobody regards them.

Brake pads and rotors , I'd like your opinion

Ceramic pads come stock, so use them and you wont be disappointed. Replace the rotors all the way around - premium quality so they are thicker. OEM parts are the best, but most costly. Use brake grease as directed and at least remove caliper pins and shine them up and regrease. The rear...

Just Picked up my First Lincoln on Saturday. 1979 Lincoln Continental Sedan.

Awesome car would make a great tow vehicle for my boat.... Only -30C you musta had a long sleeved t-shirt on. Even if it had 191,000kms it should be good. Add on an aftermarket overdrive system and you would tickle 40mpg. The old boat probably has high ratio gears and gets 25 mpg on the road...

    Temperature gauge/ radiator fan control

assuming your dash lights are all good, maybe you need to reset it?? I hope you disconnected your battery before working on your car. You may have computer issues. Or, the mechanical route: You replaced the rad, in doing so, or from the object that hit your rad, may have caused the condenser...

Cracked coolant recovery tank on 1994 Executive

Use Epoxy glue that hardens underwater, or a marine grade epoxy. You might want to add inside support by pushing a tube of some sort inside, nearly flush at the top and pack glue around it at the top to make inside of tank smooth again.

The Ford service techs only walk around the car and open and close all the doors to reset the ride height. They dont measure anything.

    98 Continental Suspension question

One can get new electronic struts and shocks at rockauto. The rear horizontal stabilizer shocks probably only at Ford. There are a few threads on here discussing the clunking in the trunk. From loose exhaust to loose tail lights.
