I just fixed this problem on my 88, get some white grease, take the door panels off and spray the guide rails and all the moving joints.

Thanks guys, I got it at a price I just couldn't turn down. so far I've had to replace the heater core and the oil sending switch, but even with that I'm still happy with it.
