I have a very low mileage (looks unused) polished m112 eaton for a 5.4
throttle body
upper intake (from throttle body to supercharger)
vacuum lines and brackets
lower intake manifold (I may sell it with the innercooler for the right price)
Idler pulleys with mounting bracket
tensioner with...

See the problem is that you have to have the business enough to justify the parts orders. I'm just trying to start out, so business is nonexistant. And let's face is no matter what the cost of parts, labor or whatever there will always be someone somewhere who's gotten it done for cheaper...

True. You know it would make more since for me to be a dealer who also does installs rather that just doing installs and paying retail price for everything. Ok, I'm still available if anyone needs an install or anything else, but I guess I'm going to have to take this a step further.
I'm wondering how they can afford to put a $380 differential, $200 gears, rebuild parts, and labor for build and install for that price. I know I can't.

Ya know, it doesn't matter if you think my prices are too high. However, I do need feed back about one thing or another. If there are shops that build them for $750 then I know I have some competition and will have to work hard to get any business. I just see a potential to make some...
hmmm
If you wanted a 3.55 and tl setup it's going to be pricy. Just the gears alone are $200, the tl is between $130-$190 (less if you go with used and add new clutches) the rebuild is about $100. That's right at $500 without labor ($250) or the case (which is usually $80-120). Now if you...

Anyone else want a rear built please let me know. I have no problems using cast iron if you would prefer that or using a Detroit, Eaton, or even Auburn (though I don't recommend the latter) for you guys who need a little more or alot more strength. I also don't care...

Ok guys I can get parts if you need me to. However I will need to know your budget to see what we can work out. I'm trying to get these tools so I can be the goto guy for differentials in the MN-12 and FN-10 chassis cars. I already make a living turning wrenches, I would like to turn...

I'm in Houston. It'll be $250 labor and you find the parts. Or if you want me to find the parts I'll have you send me the full price and a list of what you want new and what you want used. I'll need to know to come up with the price for parts. Or if you want it sooner I can finish mine...
what you would need
gears-$100-200 depending on new or used
trac loc- cheap for just the trac loc probablly $50 or so itself and the rebuild if it needs clutches is $40.80
irs 8.8 rebuild kit is 100.80
Used mark viii pumpkin with or without gears b/t $50-$120
$511.16 on the high side for parts...

boss man says he discussed it with him....but I don't know what that was all about. He's in New York for new years but we'll discuss this all as soon as he gets back. But I'm not touching anything on it until he returns and I know the full story. It's hard getting all the facts strait...
i see
i didn't diagnose the engine my boss did so I haven't a clue what it is he found wrong. The customer just wants it fixed on the cheap, but the problem is that he had some hack replace the engine already and now it's nothing but problems. Looking at the car today I'm probablly going to...
...wtf?
Why in the hell are prices so high for these motors. I mean I've seen them in pieces and they aren't that different from the 32V lincoln motors. And you can pick up a low mileage lincoln motor for a grand or less if you shop for it.
I understand the prices for a reman being so...
ya know
If I could get about 4 or 5 guys who want setup diff's together I could afford the speciality tools I need to build these things. I've gotten mine together but without the $450 case spreader and a couple other things I can't get the backlash properly adjusted.
I know this doesn't...
I was hoping you guys could help me track down a northstar for a 94 sts. It's a customer's car and he's wanting the motor replaced rather than getting rid of it. Seems the going price at a Salvage yard is right at $1500, but I don't even know if there are any other years that I can look at...

Isn't he the one with the stock internals? I seriously doubt a stock 4.6 can handle those kinds of numbers without coming apart. But I may be thinking of someone else.
hp #'s
Well it shifts into od at 4700 RPM's so the graph only says 218 rwhp, but torque was 245 ft/lbs. However at 6k it should be somewhere in the 240 hp...maybe a touch over 245. A/F ratio is at a very conservative 13:1 as I'm having some pinging issues. I have the following:
