I have the "temp rod in the radiator" setup right now, but that isn't very efficient, because it doesn't report the engine temp...only the coolant temp, once it hits the radiator. So, while the engine could be at 195* after startup, the rod in the radiator won't see that until the thermostat...

CDMB, I sent you a mail reply to your request for my digital cluster... :) Yeah, the early '85 to (I think)'89 ignition plugs, directly under the key switch, were a problem. I had to re-crimp/hammer the plug-housing holders on a few 85-87 Marks because the heat would loosen them or weaken...

I live about 2 miles from Lincoln Land. They are pretty nice folk. But $390?! :eek:... I really doubt they're going to rebuild it... They might just send you a used unit that tested as 'working'. Blown/leaking capacitors are usually at the heart of 80's-90's Mark VII electronics failures...

No, I've never seen aftermarket LED tails for sale for the Mark VII. Gotta make your own. I created a set for my SVO Mark VII. It was a lot of work but it really sets it apart and looks awesome at night. Check it out, here

I think I put a set of cloth cougar seats in another Mark VII I had. They were very comfy! But they bolted right to the tracks. The trick is to get seats that will bolt to your tracks...not tracks that will bolt to your floor. ;) Additionally there are adapter kits that can fit many seats...

lol...I love this posting. Non-motorhead sons can be as taxing as a non-computerhead son. These cars are certainly NOT for anyone who isn't mechanically/electronically interested or inclined and only wants a daily driver without possible problems/maintenence. Get him a Honda! ...

Well, I'd already bought the cobra intake before the engine build started and I thought it would make a nice custom addition to a car I've been customizing for nearly 15 years. I'll post flow numbers and pics of the finished part when it's done.

The 347 build is nearly complete! :) All that is left is a "BMW Silver"/Clearcoat paint for the opened-ported upper Cobra intake. I will also post the CFM of this experimental intake. It should be very interesting! :) You can see how much metal was ground away(right), vs. the stock...

What EEC are you using? A9L, X3Z? You didn't mention whether you had a custom chip burned for your EEC. This is a must for your type of mods. If not, then you will surely have problems! :eek:
