    Just Replaced DCCV

So I have a 2000 V8 that I'm having some similar issues with. Since I've had it I've had weak heat on idle with more heat upon acceleration. I replaced the aux pump with no improvement. This summer I was driving with a passenger and they noticed hot air coming from the passenger side and I had...

Does anyone have the pin outs for the abs module? I'm trying to go by the procedure in post #4. the procedure in alldata that I have is in a different order and the pin numbers are different, however the wire colors are the same...

    Steering Wheel Angle Sensor

I guess I was expecting there to be a connection under the dash. Looks like I'll have to get some longer test probes.

    Steering Wheel Angle Sensor

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I'm having the same issue, light is on and advancetrac message. Code c1277, and I've tried cleaning the sensor and even replacing it with one from a junkyard. I'm not 100% sure if the junkyard one is good or not, but I'd rather not just keep changing out...

moisture sensitive wipers 2001 ls v8

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having issues with mine. The glass was replaced(before I owned it) and hasn't worked since. I popped the sensor off and took off the two clear gel like squares, rinsed them in water and put it all back together and it still doesn't work. I can see the orange...

Just your run of the mill Valve cover gasket question?

This really isn't that bad of a job. I just had my VCs off when I did the timing chains and now that I've done it once, I wouldn't pay anyone to do it. The driver side is more work than the passenger side, but luckily I did the passenger side first which was a confidence booster. I took lots of...

    What is this engine noise?

Nope no insults here, I appreciate all of the feedback. I'll admit the first time I did not check the slip fit and that was a big part of the mistake resulting in that shredded seal. I did check it on the new seal and I would say it's more snug than a traditional slip fit, but I didn't have to...

    What is this engine noise?

I ordered it through Christopher's foreign parts, same place as all the parts/seals for the timing chain replacement. I did lube the area and I almost think it made it worse and allowed it to slide more. If there was a lip on the seal it would be so much easier. Good thinking on the 4.2 forums...

    What is this engine noise?

Well I believe I figured out the issue. Looks like the crank seal got pushed too far back into the timing chain and never really sealed around the harmonic balancer. This led to a tiny bit of oil to cone out. Just enough to see some wet areas, but never enough to leave a drop on the floor. So...

    What is this engine noise?

Anyone know what this noise is? All of the chains and tensioners were just replaced. Everything seems to run smooth, idles great, drives fine, but the noise is there even with the belt off so it doesn't seem to be any of the belt driven accessories. I would say it sounds related to engine...

White smoke.. hoping it's not a headgasket..

I solved my problem when I drained the tank and refilled with fresh gas. I know that moisture can drip from the exhaust, but it wasn't just moisture, the picture I attached was shows it was more of an oily substance. You can see the water and the oil separated. The amount of smoke coming out of...

White smoke.. hoping it's not a headgasket..

Well I pumped the tank as empty as I could get it and then added 4.5 gal of some 93 and the smoke is gone! Looks like it was due to excessive moisture in the tank. So happy to see it's gone!!!

White smoke.. hoping it's not a headgasket..

I'll take a look but most of the smoke is coming out of the back of the car and the mufflers are actually dripping

White smoke.. hoping it's not a headgasket..

Hey guys and gals I finally finished up with fixing the timing components along with the aluminum cooling tower and have everything all put back together. Went to start it and long story short, dead fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and she starts up and as far as the timing components go, it...
