Fuel Smell on start up with A/C on

Any Gen1 owners that read this and have a gas smell look at the 'silver button' damper on the fuel line in your engine compartment. Big safety hazard there, why you see You tube vids of Tbirds an Ls's on the side of the road in flames with no damage. I just replaced mine, which is the now...

Low Mileage LS's - For Sale

99k in Cali was pristine too, my problem was all the Gen 1 issues lol.

    Wheel identity?

Stumbled on this as I was looking at wheels for my LS. Unity is right, and likely would have the Ford part number for reorder as well (of course would be discontinued). What the looks like to me is an after market dealer swap for more money, and the Lincoln Emblem was glued atop the center...

    Monroe quick strut part number

I bet in both those cases those were monroe shocks, probably the lowest cost versions and installed without any of the rest of the refresh needed for things like springs, toe links, etc etc. It best to compare apples to apples, and if you find something on Strutmaster here, feel free to apple...

    Lincoln LS headache

So, I can tell by that big nob paperweight on the front of you cams that you have a pre may 2001 engine. Getting back to my 2 cents, you are definitely in the boat of it is less work to pull and put in a 2002 engine than to do the chains right on that engine. You see, the issue is the oil pump...

    Lincoln LS headache

If you get to the point where you find the engine is thrashed, if the rest of the car is nice you can get a put a May 2001 or 2002 built used engine that has the updated chains and oil pump and swap that in and your car will run for a long time. For others that are browsing, this is probably...

    Monroe quick strut part number

There isn't one. Couple of vague references by users of them not complaining or positive. So far so good for me. I am putting them through a little harder pacing now and I am impressed with the performance so far. The real issue is the cost difference. If you pay for bilsteins conversion...

    Strutmasters Coilovers

Strutmasters business is converting air cars to non. The internet blaster ads crossover. The Lincoln LS in their product parts specific do not talk air. I can't tell you what monroe it is, but is built for strutmaster use only - at least according to them. Kind of makes sense, some difference...

    Monroe quick strut part number

You will find no manufacturer makes them for this car. If you look back a couple weeks in threads you will find the Strutmaster thread. Even better just go to that website. This is the company that parts them together.

    Strutmasters Coilovers

They work just fine. Didnt believe how much noise I was getting on 17 year old stock sport until I put the set on beginning of this year. My mechanic said he was surprised they used such high quality monroe strut (eibach springs).

01 LS Coolant Parts Replacement advice please!!

Dont get the Motorcraft tstat in IMO. When the dealership did mine, brand new OEM Motorcrapt didnt last hardly six months. Dealership tested everything up and done and couldnt find why my car was overheating. My Indy and I already new that, but I told him let me use the 2 year warranty on it...

Where to buy LSE bumper today

4W4Z-17D957-AAB - Genuine Ford Parts Like most everything else, if it isnt on the way out of the Ford warehouses it may well soon be. Go to your local dealer with that part number and see if they will get it for you. Really, if one is around it is going to be designated as a 2006 LS Front...

2001 Lincoln LS Transmission Replacement question

IMO due to age and use if your in there you should replace the solenoid. After learning things from my indy tranny guy, stuff just wears. Now, I only did that and valve body rebuild, wasn't anywhere near a full pull like you.

    Which Coil packs to buy?

Ya I know. :) Just keeping my promise to you about recording the history. Of course i would bet your referring to Visteon made Motorcrafts too.....

    Which Coil packs to buy?

Or avoid the extra work and buy the Delphi off Rock Auto as a lower cost alternate. 14k and nearing 2 years still going strong Joe!

    Question about a 2001 Lincoln LS V8

Its FAR more than just tensionors. The whole chain design and oil pump delivery too. Thus why post may 2001 you are golden because for the most part it is Gen 2, short of VVT. Again Post may 2001 it probably is flip compatible.

    Question about a 2001 Lincoln LS V8

Check the build date if its a pre May 2001 run away. The timing chain design makes it way more expensive to repair than a Gen2.

Where to buy LSE bumper today

Ya Joe, maybe but if I remember right from my 2002 OEM retail back then was 1200 dollars or so. At this point if you can get a good deal on a used but needs repairing one anywhere shipping isn't even going to come close to that.

2000 ls 3.9 sport front struts

Just go to the strutmasters website. By the time you deal with the labor for spring compression and etc, its more expensive than what they offer. As far as quality, well it is FAR better than OEM worn out ones but, I don't think it is quite as good as the OEM Sport, from memory, when new. BTW...

Ford to stop selling most cars in North America

Cops havnt been buying crown vics in years. They do SUV now. Livery is also doing more SUV, but those that dont will have a continental fleet model - strange Idea to try to save this poor performer. Ford 'cars' will be sold as Lincoln, and I hope that means they will infuse it with freshness...
