Well gentlemen I made a thread in regards to design flaws so I thought I would make a counter thread. What did Lincoln do right when they made the LS? What design traits do you feel were really excellent and should have continued to today?

I concur on this one. My old 88 Mark 7 has a functioning low oil level light. It warns you right when you are about a quart low.

Well I just swapped the degas bottle, t-stat, cap, some hoses going to the bottle, and had the system bled. The AC was already having issues blowing cold and I never had a real overheat situation in terms of the car going in limp home mode or even hitting the hot on the gauge.

Hey gentlemen my 01 needs to have the AC recharged so I pose this question to you. I have heard from several mechanics that the recharge canisters you get from Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc....actually aren't so hot for the system overall. Is their any truth behind this?

Not to hijack my own topic guys but man this LS is really growing on me. It looks like my Degas Bottle/T-Stat/Lines to Degas/Degas Cap repair went okay. Compared to what I have driven in the past this engine/transmission is seamless in operation.

I agree and apologize for a repeat thread. I am somewhat new to the LS world and am weighing this car out heavily before going all out in a committed relationship with this car. Besides my 2012 Camry the 2001 LS is the newest car I have ever owned and not being able to work on it much myself...

What's your take on the five speed auto in these first generation cars? Not being able to visibly check the fluid kind of bothers me guys as I'm old school and want to actually see my fluid.

How can you compare an early 2000's luxury sedan with something with the latest technology? For the most part the newer tech is going to reign superior in every situation.
