Replaced my LS with a car

Damn, y'alls a buncha bitches! Popped in to see what was posted after I left and it was like a bunch of little kids taunting the schoolyard bully once they decided he was out of earshot. Nevertheless, I still won't throw a wobbler even if some of you are. Not even going to badmouth the LS...

What did you do to your LS today?

As a parting shot, what did I do to my LS today? Tried to remember what it looked like... and failed. I'm so happy!

Replaced my LS with a car

OK folks, thanks for everything. Good luck with your cars, you'll need it. I still say to those who want to keep them long term, pick up a couple of LSs you can use for spare parts for when they are no longer available. If you have the room, get a transport container to store them in. You can...

Gen 1 (00-02) Cooling Fan Removal Instructions-- LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

If you're cracking the system open, replace all AC seals you can reach too. You can get a box of them, multiple sizes, from the parts store for about 10 bucks. This will save you from an AC leak down the road, and is very simple to do now. Pay close attention to how tight the hose nuts are...

    2001 Lincoln LS8 in Virginia (757)

Unless something has been changed, Magnaflow is the only maker of true high-flow cats. BigRig's not quite right on how the front vs rear O2s work, unless the LS does it different. In days of old, the fronts provided feedback to the computer on the fuel/air mix and the rears were only used...

What did you do to your LS today?

Ah, summer. The warmest week of the year in Canada.

Won't be an issue, but I appreciate the warning. I didn't dump my LS because I couldn't afford to keep it up, I dumped it because I didn't like it. Luckily for LS fans, the cars are now selling for around 1000 to 2000 dollars in decent shape. Now's the time to stock up on a few spare parts...

    Happy holidays to everyone !!!

True. Jesus, even knowing for certain God was there, was fearful at the end when he asked God to not make him die on the Cross. Really, I think one of the reasons God sent Jesus was, God is all-knowing, but this is an oxymoron. There is one thing that an all-knowing being cannot know, by...

Must be nice. I had to hit several stores to find them, each time. I'm SOOO happy that's not a problem I have anymore.

What did you do to your LS today?

They won't do much of anything about keeping mud and water off. They will, however, help keep rock impacts from damaging the paint.

Loktite is almost always a good idea. Blue is what I normally use, red is what you want to use when never want that bolt to come off again.

    Happy holidays to everyone !!!

Umm... card decks have 52 cards. Don will never get there, was my point. In other words, he's not got a full stack of pancakes. His happy meal didn't come with fries. He's fishing without bait. His dog won't hunt. His drag light tree doesn't have a green light. His cooling system won't...

All red looks better, and it's easier to find light bulbs for besides. Had 2-3 bad blinkers on my old LS and finding the yellow bulbs was a pain every time.

Yup, it's got a Hemi. So far it's averaging 23MPG, and it burns 87 instead of 93.

    Specs on COP's

There is another option folks, and that is doing away with COPs altogether. Use regular spark plug wires to connect to individual coils. Two big problems, and that is finding regular coils that the LS computer will talk to, and keeping water out of the spark plug wells. I had planned to see...

    Happy holidays to everyone !!!

Here's what I don't understand about the whole debate. We all know Don plays Solitaire with a 50 card deck. Why are you arguing with him about this?

    Who makes tie rods still?

If you look at the length of the collapsible part, you can see that it's not going to move very far at all. Even GM's active rear steering only moved the rear wheels 12 degrees. It just doesn't take much to affect direction when the rear wheels.

Replaced my LS with a car

Nope, I think I got a good deal considering needed repairs. Needs new coils and plugs, new radiator, new wheel hub, needed the rear end rebuilt. So how much would that be? Besides, Corollas are damn near indestructible.

Replaced my LS with a car

Not to worry though. Man does not live by appliance alone. This car accelerates at part throttle faster than the LS did flat out. At full throttle it just flies. Of course, 1.8 more liters and 3 more gears will do that for you. No idea on mileage yet as so far we've test driven the...

Replaced my LS with a car

There we go. Yes, it's a Corolla! My commute is 40 miles one way amongst people who are staring at their phones while driving through construction zones in the dark. It's a 2006 model, 1.8, 5 speed manual. It is an appliance. While the 5 speed is fun, it is not powerful and it is not...
