Town Car Fuel Filler Neck replacement

Hi everyone, Maybe this post will save somebody a hassle in the future. I ordered a new fuel filler neck for my 2000 Lincoln Town Car from Rock Auto. It was a Dorman 577-093 part number. This filler neck DOES NOT FIT a 2000 TC even though on Dorman's website they show it as the correct...

    town car keyless entry

My 2000 TC has a sticker on the side of the trunk hinge. I wasn't sure it was the right sticker at first because I didn't know how to use the keypad but it is the right sticker and I was able to set my own custom code too. Sure beats calling the locksmith if I ever lock the keys in the car!

    recharge a/c

When I bought my 2000 TC recently the AC wasn't working. I was very pleased with the service I got from Firestone Complete Auto Care. They found a bad relay which they fixed and also found that it needed to be charged. They added some UV dye to the system and after it leaks out again they'll...

Bought a beater today... It has issues.

Wow, never heard of Rock Auto before... I bought Moog ball joints from my local parts store and it cost over $500 for the 2000 TC. Rock Auto - $193 delivered  I'll have to bookmark that website!

    Cannot read OBD 2

In the 2000 TC the schematic shows a LB/WH wire (fused 20Amp) from the "central distribution box" under the dash. This wire is supposed to be "hot at all times".

Filling-Bleeding procedure from Ford Workshop Manual (for 2000 Town Car): 1. Add coolant to the degas bottle until coolant is between the coolant fill level marks. 2. Select maximum heater temperature and blower motor speed settings. Position controls to discharge air at the AC vents in...

    99 town car help

I can take a look in the 2000 TC shop manual for a drain and refill procedure after work today. Sounds like you may have an air pocket trapped someplace??? Maybe it won't take the whole 4 gallons if you didn't get all the coolant out of the block when you drained it???

    Cannot read OBD 2

I'm no expert but assuming you're using your own code scanner I'd bring it to an auto parts store for a free scan and see if they can pick up a code. They are always successful on my 2000 TC. For the lighter issue I can check the schematic for my 2000 and see if I can shed some light on where...

    2000 TC hard starting

I've tried the on/off routine before cranking and sometimes it seems to help and other times not so much. Lately the problem seems to be all but disappeared on it's own but that could be a result of the cooler weather we've had since the problem was at it's worst when it was hot outside...

    2000 TC hard starting

Hello everyone, I just bought a 2000 TC with 145K miles. It runs great and it even starts well when it's cold outside but when the weather gets warm I have to crank it for 5-10 seconds before it barely manages to start. For example - yesterday the car fired right up at 6:30AM and the...

    where does this wire belong?

Hello everyone, New guy here :D I just bought a 2000 Lincoln Town Car and while changing the spark plugs I found a wire tucked under the passenger side fuel rail. The wire comes out of the harness near (below) the tranny dipstick and has a rubber molded elbow plug on the end. The wire is...

Where does this wire go? 2000 Town Car

Hi everyone, New guy here :D I just got this 2000 Town Car and while I was replacing the spark plugs I found a wire tucked in under the passenger side fuel rail. Any ideas where this is supposed to go? Here's a couple pics. First one shows the plug itself and the second one shows...
