Its the bezel. The black all around the outside of the light is the bezel. It fits tight against the lens.

I will install angel eyes for anyone that would like. I have done my own (Gen 2) and a Gen 1. If you send me the headlights and rings I can install them no problem. $150 + shipping Some pictures of my Gen 2: and the Gen 1 (not installed yet but will post more when they are)

My '06 has Nav/THX, HIDS, rear heated seats, back up sensors but no chrome wheels.
