Well my 2000 LS V8 just went over 100k recently and now it has started making ticking noises. While driving up hills at low RPM it makes a mechanical ticking noise like the valves need adjusting. It only happen when the car is warmed up after about 15 minutes of driving. When it is colder the...
Clunk noise possibility #1 - Sway bar bushings. Replace the sway bar bushing with energy suspension parts. Cost is less than $30.
Clunk noise possibility #2 - Upper front control arm ball joints and Lower ball joints. With the car on the ground reach into the wheel well above the tire. Use your...
There is no need for a picture. Just pull off the trunk gasket, clean it and reinstall/reseal it with pure silicone(no latex crap).
As mentioned earlier take the taillights out and seal the bolt holes and other openings around the taillights to the trunk with pure silicone.
I still have no...
Try a new key. High mileage leads to worn down keys. Your key may not be hitting the tumblers correctly anymore.
Do not get a copy of the current key. Go to the dealer and have them check the Ford computer to get the key code that matches your car. They will cut a key from that code.
Your welcome Renzo
Well it has been many months since the gasket repair and I have not had anymore water in the trunk. Sometimes you don't have to spend much money to fix a problem (1 tube of silicone).
I read all the posts I could find. But, sometimes you just have to step back for a few days/weeks and let things roll through your mind until you want to tackle a problem from a different perspective.
Besides, during this past summer I just rode my motorcycle and didn't think about the car...
Used old PCM.
I currently have a Limited Lifetime warranted spare PCM. I jumped the gun on the PCM.
New PCM means that the PCM has to be linked/married to the car. The car will not start without the PCM and PATS being linked. If I did have to install the new PCM, which I did not. I have a...
Problem solved.
I had a broken wire under the passenger fender. It was DLC plug pin #10, SCP Bus -, Blue/Red wire. This wire causes problems with other systems as well. I currently have no warnings on the car and the car passed state emissions.:)
The computer was shipped out last week and I should get a new computer this week. I got a call from the repair company yesterday and they were able to repeat the problem. They found out that the main board in the computer and part of the processor were bad. The down side is that these parts are...
I talked to a number of people about the problem and now it is time to have the computer repaired. Apparently it is a chip problem associated with access to the protocol they use for accessing the emissions information. So my friends scanner must access the computer through different electrical...
Had friend bring his scanner over. It's a different brand scanner and it can connect to the car.
This is just getting strange.:confused::confused:
last night I read the DLC connector wires from the car to the scanner and they are perfect.
Tonight I puller the PCM (engine computer) and...
Somebody here must have had this happen to one of their cars at some point.
This is a stock car with no aftermarket changes done at all, or EVER. The OBD connector under the dash will not allow any code reader or the state emissions inspection computer read the car.
2000 Lincoln LS V8 Sports package 86000 miles
My problem is the emissions portion of the state inspection. The dealer’s emissions computer will not connect to my cars DLC. Therefore it will not pass inspection here. The dealer did have the company that takes care of the shop computer and it...
During the end of the winter I was working on my car and noticed that the spare tire well had 3 inches of water in it. So I pulled the plug and cleaned the well out only to have the water return at the next wet snow/rainy winter day. I tried to make it leak with a hose but it did not leak at...
